Stunning Sunrises, Sunsets and Everything in Between
While the inhabitants change with the season, sunrise and sunset any time of year provide some of the most picturesque views on earth with even better wildlife viewing opportunities. Much of the refuge is water but there are about five miles of hiking trails, some with incredible viewing platforms. Be sure to stop by the refuge headquarters where you’ll find informational kiosks and maps, and if you have time, tour nearby Jake Wolfe Memorial Fish Hatchery or visit Sand Ridge State Forest.
