Grandview Drive Park

Arguably the most famous stop of the Autumn 2022 challenge, Grandview Drive Park has been a local favorite for generations. Whether it is a drive, walk, picnic or to take stunning pictures, the Illinois River Valley views make it clear why Teddy Roosevelt called this “The World's Most Beautiful Drive.”

Breathtaking River Valley Vistas

Breathtaking vistas of what was once the ancient Mississippi River bed are a not-to-be-missed destination for Central Illinois visitors and community members as well.

This 2.5-mile long, 180-acre linear park was one of the first of its kind, and also serves as a trailhead for the Pimiteoui Trail (a famous hike to Forest Park Nature Center) while the southernmost area offers plenty of playground and picnic spaces.
