Spring Creek Preserve

Gleaming with a plethora of lush terrain (hills, flat, timber prairie, creeks and more), this River Valley gem has earned the honorable designation as a State Land and Water Reserve due to its high biological diversity.

Latitude/Longitude:

Valley (Spring Creek Rd) Entrance: 40.7325540, -89.5150947

Bluff (Grosenbach Rd) Entrance: 40.7235473, -89.516961

Biodiverse and Beaming

With over four miles of wide and well-marked hiking trails across its 262 acres of river bluff and bottomlands, the trail loops of Spring Creek Preserve offer a multitude of options for short or longer adventures.

If the water is flowing, you may even get to splash through a creek.

You can even bring your pup (leashed of course) and a picnic to enjoy at the picnic tables near the lower parking lot…or maybe even along the trail!
